Roscoe: A consignment program success story.

Roscoe was stall number 35 at a sales barn when Kirstie first met him. He was not shown to her at first because he was “too young” for a lesson program at 4 years old. However, Kirstie saw his quality and could tell he had a great brain. She decided to take a chance on the young quarter horse.

When he arrived at Proctor Hill Farm, Roscoe was not fit and was not used to being indoors, let alone in a training program. He was also quite unsteady on his feet and did not know how to hold himself together.

Through strength training and groundwork, Roscoe quickly blossomed into a wonderful lesson horse at just five years old. It took Kirstie about 4 months to get the quarter horse strong and balanced enough for jumping. He also has great lead changes!

Roscoe is a great example of how you can purchase a young horse with quality without breaking the bank! He just needed a consistent training program focused on progressive strength building.

Roscoe was purchased for $7,500, and his sale price is now $25k.

Roscoe is available for an on-site half or full lease or for purchase.

Khali: An equine makeover success story.

Priced at $15,000, Kirstie saw a lot of potential in this young off-the-track thoroughbred. However, he needed extensive medical care. He was very unhappy when getting tacked up and did not like people in his stall.

In collaboration with her vet, her bodyworker, and her saddle fitters at Arion, she created a holistic wellness plan to get this talented horse back on track. Khali was treated for ulcers and went through Kirstie’s back rehab program to help strengthen his spine, given that x-rays showed he had kissing spine in 8 areas across his back. After a month focusing on groundwork, Khali is back under the saddle and will be jumping by this summer! As Kirstie’s main show horse, she expects this horse to blossom in dressage and show jumping. He will be available for half leasing soon!

Khali is a great example of how you can create a super high-quality thoroughbred by investing in their healthcare and rehabilitation focused on strength and patience.

Khali is available on-site for half lease.

Working with Kirstie

“I have been riding pretty much since I could walk and have ridden with numerous different trainers and barns, and Kirstie is the most amazing instructor I have worked with. She really takes the time to get to know each client, their goals, their weak areas, and their strengths, all while being the most uplifting, motivating, and positive trainer. She has the best horses, and I can’t say enough good things about her!
